completed nursery photos

As promised, here are the prints I made, as well as the completed trim around the border of the piece of drywall.

The two pictures on the right are from my series of "wish you were here." The middle one hasn't made it into the series yet because I haven't gotten to it in the order yet. A 600-dpi scan is forthcoming. It's a picture of a sculpture from my mom's house; containing some of my dad's ashes.

Pretty cheap project (<50$), but adds a lot to the room. What do we think?

Labor Day

..No labor, yet. Claire is having the "practice" labor contractions more; it's only a matter of time (still measured in days/weeks). Since I was finally feeling better today, I wanted to do something fun with an extra piece of drywall we had in our hallway. Last my cousin Marc was up we did some drywall work and this wastage piece was left after we cut off what was needed. I hung it with drywall screws in the nursery behind the crib, and painted it an accent color - then hung three frames across it. It's sort of a frames within a frame thing. I plan to use prints from my photography project (darkroom-photos.blogspot.com) to fill the frames.

We noticed today that our color scheme so far matches our little terrier.

I also plan to trim it out a bit more, I just need to decide which type of trim to pick up on the way home sometime this week. Once the last two elements, (prints and trim) are complete, I'll do another post.
