Baby 2.0!

Hi friends!

Thanks for all the well wishes. It is nice that the news is out and we don't have to keep things secretive any longer. Erik seems to be very excited about the upcoming arrival of 2.0 and last night we talked through some name options as well. We have decided not to find out the sex of 2.0 until he/she is born and will then decide on a name. I really do love surprises, so this seems to work out well. We will be taking bets on the birth day and the sex of the baby at a big picnic party sometime in June.

Here is a picture of our little baby at 8 weeks and 5 days. This was 4 weeks ago. According to the interwebs 2.0 is now the size of a lime. How crazy is that!

From Babycenter.com
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, toes will curl, eye muscles will clench, and the mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. The intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into the bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. The face looks unquestionably human: eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Glad the news it OUT :) It's much more fun when you can blab about it to everybody. Regarding the baby center updates. . .you will soon realize that they are VERY creative with their fruit/veggie comparisons. Down the line, they mentioned a few fruits I had never even heard of. Common pomegranite! (Well, I had heard of that one, but you let me know when they give you a weird one!)
