Karl got his second haircut, the first by a professional. He was happy to watch 'Thomas the Train' while he was trimmed up.
Our cute guy after his cut.
We are into dinosaurs and Karl has an entire outfit dedicated to these creatures. His hat has spikes, his shirt has two dinosaurs, even his shorts and shoes have dinosaurs on them. If we were out of diapers I am certain that we would have dinosaur underwear.
A few weeks ago DC was hosting it's annual Kite Festival. There were some beautiful kites there and it was a perfect windy day. Karl thought all the kites were great. We plan to go back next year with our own.
(Note that Karl has on another dinosaur shirt)

As the choir director for the little ones at my church Karl is often made to participate. This Palm Sunday Karl lined up with a group of kids to process into the sanctuary while singing. I thought all would be fine, but Karl had other ideas and started crying loudly once he got to the front. The inability to see Mom was too much.
"Are you done with pictures yet?"
We are in love with craft time! Mom stupidly went upstairs for a moment while Karl was playing with Dot Art (gift from Aunt Lele). Below is what happens when left alone. The blue and red dots on his arms have now faded enough so it appears that we beat him.
After crafts we usually go looking for acorns, pinecones and flowers. We just love the playground and taking walks. Karl is looking forward to our time in Monterey where there is much more wilderness than is here in Northern VA.
Karl examining his acorn.
Playgrounds are still our favorite. Here we are at the one attached to the "Hidden Pond Nature Center". I meant to get some pictures of Karl touching a snake & turtle, but forgot. We had a great time playing and looking at all the animals that live in and around ponds.
Here Karl is playing with 2 of the 3 kids also born from women who were in our birth class. We still meet regularly and it was imperative to my sanity to have these women in my life when Karl was a newborn! It's also nice that they have similar parenting styles to us as well.
This past Saturday the family went to an easter Egg hunt at my church. Here is Karl enjoying a sugary cookie that he decorated with icing and candy. He was pretty wound up after this.
Karl was more interested in playing on the playground instead of hunting for eggs.
On Sunday, Karl attended the 11am service. Here he is right before he started really crying during Children's Time.
Trying to catch a glimpse of the baby chick that was part of the children's time.
After church Nana and some friends came over for Easter dinner! Before our friends arrived the Sax clan went for a walk to look for acorns and play at the playground. Here is Karl posing with Nana
We got a family picture that even includes our monster dog.
Swinging with Nana.
Nana and Karl jumping.
This is SO much fun!
Modeling our Easter outfit.
Running around the deck as we waited for our flank steak to finish cooking.
